Sharing the Breakthrough T1D mission has been a passion of the Malone family since Caroline’s diagnosis with type one diabetes in 2005. We quickly formed a team for the Beat the Bridge to Beat Diabetes Run, and with much support from family and friends, became a top fundraising team for many years. The three of us were pleased to share our leadership skills throughout the years; Marc on the chapter board and serving as board president; Gwen as the leader of the Family Team Committee, Chair of the Outreach Committee, member of the chapter board and now member of the Breakthrough T1D Global Mission Board; Caroline served for many years as a Youth Ambassador, and met with state legislators at both the 2015 Children’s Congress and 2017 Government Day. It has been our pleasure to support a Breakthrough T1D National Diabetes Psychology Fellowship and we will continue to generously support Breakthrough T1D research in the future. It is our family’s honor to share our experiences living with and caring for someone with T1D, as well as sharing the mission of Breakthrough T1D with you at the 2024 Pacific Northwest Chapter Gala in November.
